When you're shopping around for your next car, it's important to do your due diligence and ensure sure that you're buying the right one for you. To help with that, we're comparing the 2018 530i sedan to another vehicle from its class, the Infiniti Q50.

We have to confess that the 530i carries the higher Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of the two vehicles; keep in mind, though, that it's been built with the finest of German engineering at its core. And while the 530i is longer, taller and wider than the Infiniti, it still boasts the better fuel efficiency of the two. The BMW is rated to deliver an estimated 24 city/34 highway/27 combined fuel economy, while the Infiniti manages 22 city/28 highway/24 combined. As you can imagine, the savings on fuel costs will add up in no time at all.

Both cars come with a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine, but the 530i engine has twin turbochargers. Press the accelerator and you'll immediately notice that the BMW 530i powers out 248 horsepower, easily topping the 208 from the Q50. The 530i teams its engine to an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the Infiniti pairs its to a 7-speed automatic.

With 18.7 cubic feet of trunk cargo space, the 530i offers the capability to carry more stuff than you'd be able to with the Q50's 13.2 cubic feet.

In addition, the BMW 530i comes with the reassurance provided by four years of Roadside Assistance, while the Infiniti doesn’t.
