ANNAPOLIS, Md., May 18, 2026 – BMW of Annapolis, part of Houston-based Group 1 Automotive, Inc. (NYSE: GPI), will celebrate the grand opening of its newly renovated dealership on Tuesday, May 19. The project transforms the 17,022-square-foot facility into a premium, hospitality-driven environment designed to elevate the luxury customer experience.
The renovation reflects BMW’s broader Retail.Next initiative, a brand-wide overhaul aimed at deepening customer comfort and brand immersion. The Annapolis facility represents one of only four exclusive BMW Lighthouse locations nationwide, featuring fewer vehicles on display, high-end lounge seating, and a five-star hospitality mindset.
“This renovation gives our guests a more comfortable, intuitive, and personalized experience from the moment they arrive,” said Steve Daly, General Manager of BMW of Annapolis.
The redesigned showroom creates a seamless customer journey from product discovery to final delivery. Major enhancements include:
Flexible Consultation Spaces: Multiple open sales areas alongside six private breakout rooms equipped with sliding doors.
Enhanced Service Drive: A major highlight is the expanded, fully enclosed service drive that accommodates up to six vehicles. It is fully HVAC-conditioned for year-round comfort and supported by seven service advisor podiums.
Premium Amenities: Expanded customer lounges feature curated furniture, accent rugs, and pendant lighting. A dedicated retail boutique offers BMW-branded apparel and parts.
Sustainability Infrastructure: The site integrates EV charging infrastructure to support customer and service use, energy-efficient LED lighting, and building improvements designed for long-term adaptability.
Daryl Kenningham, President and CEO of Group 1 Automotive, noted that the facility reflects the company’s long-term investment in its communities, combining a premium brand environment with greater operational flexibility.
Demonstrating this commitment to the local community, BMW of Annapolis will donate $10,000 to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation during the event to support its “Save the Bay” environmental restoration efforts.
