BMW vs Mazda

BMW and Mazda are two popular car brands, with each producing top-quality, feature-rich automobiles. Because they both have many impressive vehicles to choose from, it’s important to break down what these manufacturers offer as a whole.

BMW of Annapolis made it easy for you by creating this BMW vs. Mazda comparison. See what each brand is like, and contact our dealership near Annapolis, Highland Beach, and Hillsmere Shores, MD, if you have any questions.

BMW vs Mazda: History & Production

BMW and Mazda have both been around for a long time—1916 and 1920, respectively.

BMW originated in Germany, first producing aircraft engines. That ended in 1945 and the company decided to focus on cars and motorcycles. It grew exponentially over the years and by 2015, it became the 12th largest producer of vehicles, with almost 2.3 million under its belt.

Mazda, meanwhile, was founded in Japan. It originally sold three-wheeled trucks and then focused on its cars. In 2015, it became the world’s 15th largest automaker, producing 1.5 million automobiles.

While impressive, Mazda hasn’t reached the magnitude that BMW has with its production line and worldwide reach.

Vehicle Selection

Today, though, you’ll have plenty of vehicles to choose from when shopping with either brand.

For instance, BMW offers six sedans, seven SUVs, and a nice selection of coupes and convertibles. Plus, with two hybrid/all-electric models and about a dozen high-performance automobiles, there truly is something for everyone.

Mazda has its own impressive lineup of cars, including a spacious hatchback. Unfortunately, you won’t find nearly as many options with this brand as you do with BMW.

That’s because it only offers two sedans, five SUVs, two performance cars, and no all-electric models.

BMW vs Mazda Warranties

It’s important to have a wide variety of vehicles available when shopping for a new ride. However, it’s crucial to make sure whichever ride you ultimately go for provides endless dependability.

How can you determine that? One way is to look at the warranties offered by a particular manufacturer. This shows how long you’ll be covered in the event of an unexpected repair.

When you buy or lease a new BMW, you get a 4-year/50,000-mile Limited Warranty with it. If you go the certified pre-owned (CPO) route, you can tack on an additional year of protection with unlimited mileage.

Unfortunately, Mazda doesn’t offer nearly as much coverage on its warranties. For a new car, you get just three years and 36,000 miles of coverage. A CPO model gives you an additional year of protection, but only 12,000 miles rather than the unlimited from BMW.

Which Car Brand Is Right for You?

There’s no doubt that Mazda is an impressive vehicle brand, with its long history of creating dependable and fun-to-drive automobiles. However, it’s BMW that provides a bigger selection and more reliability with every new or certified pre-owned vehicle you could drive home.

The next step is finding the right BMW for your lifestyle in Annapolis, Highland Beach, or Hillsmere Shores, Maryland. You can do that here at BMW of Annapolis, where a staff member will be happy to guide you throughout your car-buying journey.
