No matter which version you choose, you’ll get a vehicle that’ll surely turn heads. The cars in the 4 Series have smooth, race-ready lines, and a toned exterior. They also have a wide chassis, flared wheel arches, and a low center of gravity.
The BMW 3 Series vehicles have the famous Hofmeister kink. This feature consists of a low forward bend at the C-pillar, or the vertical supports of a car’s window area. They also have a signature kidney grille and an aggressive, low stance.
Interior Space & Amenities
The 4 Series and 3 Series can easily fit five, with their respective Gran Coupe and Sedan pretty neck and neck in interior dimensions.
In the 4 Series Gran Coupe, you get 42.2 inches of front legroom and 33.7 inches of rear legroom. In the 3 Series Sedan, you get 42 inches of front legroom and 35.1 inches of rear legroom.
However, cargo space greatly differs between the two models. The 3 Series Sedan has a 13-cubic-foot trunk to fit items inside. Nevertheless, each vehicle has lots of amenities to help keep you comfortable on every commute. They each offer heated front seats. The 3 Series also offers heated rear seats, while the 4 Series has an available heated steering wheel.
Additionally, the 4 Series comes standard with 10-way power front seats, to get in that perfect position up front. The 3 Series comes standard with 6-way manually adjustable front seats. However, while the 4 Series stays the same in every trim level, the 3 Series upgrades to 14-way power front seats.
Both cars have lots of technologies to help you stay connected and entertained. For instance, they each come standard with Bluetooth® technology, HD Radio™, and 9-speaker sound system.
The 2018 4 Series also comes standard with the BMW Navigation System. This system will display 3D maps on an 8.8-inch high-resolution screen. Plus, you can use voice command to pull up directions, and you’ll get Over-the-Air updates four times a year.
To get this feature in the 3 Series, you need to upgrade to a higher trim level.
But both cars offer wireless charging and a Wi-Fi hotspot. This way, you won’t need to worry about your phone dying if you forget your charger. Plus, everyone on board can stay connected to the internet, so matter where you travel.
